Our Story
Our Story: Where Grace Rises with the Morning Bread
Nestled in the quiet folds of the Tennessee mountains, The Berry Burrow Cottage & Bakehouse is more than a place—it’s a prayer answered, a dream stitched together with flour-dusted hands and faith-filled heartbeats. For years, I imagined a quaint Victorian bed & breakfast on a historic main street, its windows glowing with the scent of cinnamon and comfort. But God had a different plan—one even sweeter. Today, our 720-square-foot cottage is being built as a gentle refuge for couples and solo travelers seeking rest, reconnection, and a breath of fresh country air.
Here, the world slows down. You’ll find a cozy nook to lay your head, a porch that listens well, and a meadow that sings peace over weary souls. Whether you’re escaping the noise or celebrating love, our cottage invites you to unplug, breathe deeply, and dwell in the beauty of simplicity.
Just steps away, the Bakehouse rises with the morning sun. It’s my canvas, my therapy, my ministry. Every loaf, cookie, and seasonal bundle is crafted with whimsy and intention—some inspired by our beloved pets, others by the grandchildren who dance through our story like fireflies. We offer rustic delights you won’t find anywhere else, including a special menu for those navigating diabetes. My husband’s journey has taught me that sweetness can be reimagined, and joy doesn’t need sugar to rise.
This place is a tapestry of grace—woven with poetry, prayer, and the quiet magic of hospitality. Whether you come for the cottage, the bakery, or both, you’re stepping into a storybook where faith dwells in every detail. Welcome to The Berry Burrow. We’ve been waiting for you.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
—Psalm 34:8
Devotional: A Dwelling of Delight
The Berry Burrow was never meant to be grand—it was meant to be good. Good in the way a warm loaf is good, or a quiet meadow after rain. It’s a place where small things matter: the flicker of candlelight, the hush of pine trees, the joy of baking for someone you love. In this cottage, we believe rest is holy, beauty is healing, and hospitality is a ministry.
Whether you come for a night or a nibble, we pray you leave with more than you arrived with. May your heart be lightened, your spirit lifted, and your soul reminded that God delights in the details—and He dwells in them, too.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
—Romans 12:12 (ESV)
